Warung Makan # 7 :NASI LEMAK ANTARABANGSA

Pagi2.. pingin nasi lemak yang anget2 gitu..
pikiran dah terbayang.. mo pakai lauk ayam goreng berempah dan sambal udang petai nya.

pilihan kami jatuh ke sebuah restoran dibelakang Ampang point.
namanya rumah makan "NASI LEMAK ANTARA BANGSA".
tapi antreannya panjang banget..

lapar banget rasanya.. pelayan memberikan daftar menu..

kami bener2 kapok makan disini.. nggak.. nggak bakalan datang lagi...

Iqqhuan say:

What is Nasi Lemak?

This is Malaysia favorite morning breakfast cooked in coconut milk, with pandan leaves and even ginger or a stalk of lemon grass.

Nasi Lemak is available on almost every street corner and in almost every local-themed restaurant, served with everything from chicken to beef to cuttlefishIn Indonesia, this similar method of cooking called Nasi Uduk.

However my wife told me in Palembang , Sumatra, this dish also called Nasi Lemak too!

Hmm....Traditionally, this comes as a platter with cucumber slices, small dried anchovies (ikan bilis), roasted peanuts, stir fried water convolvulus (locally called kangkong), hard boiled egg, pickled vegetables (acar) and hot spicy sauce (sambal).

Traditionally most of these accompaniments are spicy in nature.

A few years back, I have my best Nasi Lemak in my life Nasi Lemak in Kampung Baru , Kuala Lumpur.

The Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa ? Nothing come close!n Kampung Baru, You have to literally que up to buy it! And it create a traffic jam surrounding the are.

Recently they have opened a branch in a cafe styled outlet in Ampang. So , I decided to bring my wife along. With a good story about this nasi lemak that I had in their original roadside stall in Kampung Baru.

Upon, setting down ourselves in the cafe. Here comes the menu! The list is full of mouth watering topping! But our hunger was immediately shot down with non existent topping. Their excuse is "Ohh the dishes is not readied yet!"

The cafe opened for business at 0830 hrs... And we reached at 1000hrs....The waitress have a cheek to tell us " the dishes is not readied yet..."At last , we have to settled with "sambal kerang" which we could get it from roadside stall.

Everything is sweet and sour. From the spicy souce (sambal) to the sambal kerang! The rice? It does not have the taste of coconut milk and pandan leaf but the smell of wooden on our plate of rice.We left the place with a dissapointed feeling , plus a slow service.

And we noticed others patron left the table with rice on their plate too!

On the same night, we drive passed the originally roadside stall in Kampung Baru....And it was jam packed as usual. But we did not stop as there was no place to park our car...
